Operation Long Jump Pits

Our goal is to have the new Long Jump Pits ready for Day one of Season 2011/2012.
Keep up with all the news here!
The Fundraising sub-committee is working hard to reach our goal. This season we have explored a variety of ways to raise the necessary funds, including a sponsorship program with local businesses, applications for grants, a major raffle of a $5000 Travel Voucher, additional fortnightly raffles of goods donated by local businesses, Cadbury Chocolates and the usual Barbecue and Canteen facilities at our meets.
What IS that? Uluru??
The excavation for the pit was slightly delayed by the uncovering of a small pebble.

And so it begins......
Construction has begun on the new Long Jump Pits at last.
Successful Grant!!
Our application to the Tasmanian Community Fund for a grant to assist with the building of the new Long Jump Pits was successful, with funding of nearly $8000 secured.
Relaying the old runups
Prior to 2010/11 season starting, Committee members pulled up the old jump pit runups and resurfaced the track to iron out some of the bumps. This is a temporary measure whilst we finalise the new pits.
