Centre Presentation and Handicap Day

On Sat 17 March we had our final event at our Centre for the season. In showery weather all athletes were presented with a trophy and certificate of achievement at Centre Championships. Our Centre recognised the four Kingborough athletes who were selected for the State Team and presented them with cheques to the value of $250 each to assist with the cost of travel. Our U13 nominees, Georgia and Lachlan, for the TLAA outstanding achievement award were presented with trophies of recognition. Ben and Philippa Jarvis were presented with the KLAC Attitude and Committment Awards for the season. Under 13 and Under 15 athletes were farewelled with a guard of honour of all our athletes. Our U15 athlete, Olivia Tomes is our first athlete to complete every year since commencing as a toddler then as a U7B (U6)athlete. With her leaving we also lose her parents Gill and Andrew who have been actively involved at our Centre for 13 seasons. We wish our Under 15's all the best for the future and to our U13's - we hope they will come back next season. 100m heats and finals were held for the Garry and Anne House handicap event. Garry and Anne are our inaugural Life Members who have given many years of service to our Centre. With handicaps ranging from 55 to 108 metres to determine the 8 finalists. The winner was Christopher Mathers.
