"Have A Go" Day

Our second meet of the season on 29 October 2011 will be combined with a "Have A Go" Day, where existing and new athletes are encouraged to have a go at Little Athletics, and parents are encouraged to have a go at assisting at a site and/or the track events.

Win! Win! Win!

Every time an athlete has a go at an event, or a parent has a go at assisting, they will receive a raffle ticket to go into the draw at the end of the day to win their family's registration paid for the 2011/2012 season.

How will I know what to do?

Each site will have an experienced and/or qualified Chief Official who will show you what needs to be done and how to do it. The Chief Officials will be easily identified by their bright yellow Hi-Viz vests. Just ask them!

Coaching

We will have a number of people who will be going from site to site showing new athletes how to do the event, and existing athletes some technique tips on how to improve. These people will also be easily identified by their bright yellow Hi-Viz vests.

Sponsorship Races

At the completion of the standard events, we will be holding 5 very special races. Each race is sponsored by one of our Gold Sponsors, and the winner of each race will receive a special gold medal to commemorate their win.

Each race will be a handicap race, calculated using the same formula we use for the Garry and Anne House Handicap Event we hold on Presentation Day. The handicaps will be calculated using the 100m race times.

The 40 athletes who will be competing in the races will be randomly selected from those athletes who have had a go at the 70m race - so look forward to a mix of boys/girls and ages racing against each other.

Tiny Tots

We offer a Tiny Tots program for the younger siblings of registered athletes. This program is for 3 and 4 year olds and goes for approximately 15-20 minutes during each standard meet. It is in addition to the Toddler's Races held at the end of the race events for athletes.

Please note that Tiny Tots is unable to be held during Centre Championships.
