Centre Challenge Day.

This annual event is run by the TLAA and has a unique format.

Events include 70m for all age groups, and Long Jump for all age groups (with two attempts). The third event is a Throws Medley which consists of 1 attempt at each of the three throws relevant to each age group. There are also some fun relay events and a parent's event held on the day.

The Challenge Day is designed to reward participation and improvement against athlete's individual PB's. Each athlete receives points for participating in events, and the Centre receives points based on an average of how many athletes attend the Challenge. This ensures that smaller clubs can compete without being disadvantaged.

Points are awarded also for:

70m - starting from a base of 1000, 10 points are added/subtracted for every 0.1 second difference between the actual time and the athlete's PB.

Long Jump - starting from a base of 1000, 5 points are added/subtracted for every 1cm difference between the actual distance and the athlete's PB.

Throws Medley - each athlete recevies 25 points for each throw attempted (including fouls), with an additional 50 points if all three throws are attempted.
