ON YOUR MARKS. SET. GO!

Welcome to Kingborough Little Athletics for 2016-17 season

Our first competition meet for the summer track and field season is scheduled for 8 October 2016, but returning athletes are invited to bring a friend to the Come and Try Day on 1 October 2016 to warm up for the new season!

New Athletes Come and Try First - 1 October 2016

For new aspiring athletes and parents a special Come and Try day is scheduled for 1 October 2016 commencing at 9:00am. This is a modified day of events aimed at providing children and parents with the opportunity to see what Little Athletics is about in a relaxed atmosphere.

If you can't make it to the Come and Try Day that is OK as Little Athletics allows you to come and try for two competition meets before having to become a registered athlete. So come and join us at one of our meets and give it a go anytime during the season.

Remember to wear comfortable clothes, shoes for running, a hat, a drink bottle, bring a parent and a big smile.

Welcome to our Centre

Kingborough Little Athletics Centre Inc. is affiliated with the Little Athletics Tasmania and provides a range of athletics events for children between the ages of 5 and 14 in the Kingborough area. A Tiny Tots program for younger siblings (aged 3 and 4 ) of registered athletes is offered too.

Our season starts on the second Saturday in October and extends through to mid March. We meet at Gormley Park, Gormley Drive, Kingston (off Summerleas Road, before Kingborough Sports Centre) on Saturday mornings commencing at 8.30am with the occasional Wednesday evening twilight meeting commencing at 5.30pm.

Coaching is available on our training nights (currently Monday and Wednesday), also held at Gormley Park.

Little Athletics is a family activity where parents are encouraged to assist with the running of events. It is a great way for the family to be actively involved in sport. The emphasis is not on winning, but athletes improving their performance in a friendly atmosphere of "Family Fun and Fitness".

2016-17 Membership Fees

Membership fees for the season are $100 per athlete and $30 for a Tiny Tot.

For athletes born 2003 or earlier who are currently registered with Athletics Tasmania, a special dual registration for $45 is available (conditions apply).

Registration fees are set each year by LATas and a portion of the membership fee is submitted directly to LATas to cover registration and insurance. In addition to the LATas registration fee, the KLAC membership fee covers direct individual expenses (trophies and ribbons), the maintenance of  the grounds and equipment and general administration costs. We do not charge a competition fee each week, nor do we expect come and try or visiting athletes to pay to compete.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, we are only too willing to assist with a solution.

Registration

To register for the season please follow this link to the online LATas Registration Portal.

For returning families with a current registered email address, LATas will directly email you with family login details to streamline the registration process, generally in early September.

Every athlete must complete their registration and lodge their membership fee before they compete in their third meet of the season. Registrations lodged without payment of the appropriate fee will not be accepted. Once an athlete is registered they must have an official Centre competition top for their athlete name and age badge to be sewn too. These are currently $40 each (price subject to change).

Note: Proof of age for children registering for the first time is required. This can be either the blue health book or birth certificate, and must be provided to the Registrar before the registration process can be finalised.

Further enquiries regarding the registration process can be directed to our Registrar by email.
