Kingborough Little Athletics 2019-20 Season

Our first competition meet for the summer track and field season is scheduled to commence on Saturday 12 October 2019 commencing 8:30am at Gormley Park, Gormley Drive, Kingston.

New Athletes Come and Try First

For new aspiring athletes and parents, Little Athletics allows you to come and try for two competition meets before having to become a registered athlete. So come and join us at one of our meets and give it a go anytime during the season.

Remember to wear comfortable clothes, shoes for running, a hat, a drink bottle, bring a parent and a big smile.

Welcome to our Centre

Kingborough Little Athletics Centre Inc. is affiliated with the Little Athletics Tasmania and provides a range of athletics events for children between the ages of 5 and 14 in the Kingborough area. A Tiny Tots program for children aged 3 and 4 is offered too.

Our season starts on the second Saturday in October and extends through to mid March. We meet at Gormley Park, Gormley Drive, Kingston (off Summerleas Road, before Kingborough Sports Centre) on Saturday mornings commencing at 8.30am with the occasional Wednesday evening twilight meeting commencing at 5.30pm.

Coaching is available on our training nights (currently Thursday), also held at Gormley Park.

Little Athletics is a family activity where parents are encouraged to assist with the running of events. It is a great way for the family to be actively involved in sport. The emphasis is not on winning, but athletes improving their performance in a friendly atmosphere of "Family Fun and Fitness".

Additional information for new parents is available here.

2019-20 Membership Fees

Membership fees for the season are $125 per athlete and $33 for a Tiny Tot.

Special dual registration fees are available for athletes who wish to also register with an Athletics Tasmania club (conditions apply). The current dual membership fee is $100 (subject to change).

Registration fees are set each year by LATas and a portion of the membership fee is submitted directly to LATas to cover registration and insurance. In addition to the LATas registration fee, the KLAC membership fee covers direct individual expenses (trophies and ribbons), the maintenance of  the grounds and equipment and general administration costs. We do not charge a competition fee each week, nor do we expect come and try or visiting athletes to pay to compete.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, we are only too willing to assist with a solution.

To register for the season go to the online Little Athletics Tasmania registation portal here to register for our Centre. (Note: The registration portal opens in September each year). Little Athletics Tasmania are using a new registration system this season so families will be required to set up new profiles when registering.

New athletes must complete their registration and lodge their membership fee before they compete in their third meet of the season. Registrations lodged without payment of the appropriate fee will not be accepted.

Little Athletics Tasmania are accepting the Tasmanian Government Ticket to Play vouchers. Current vouchers expire in November. If you are planning on using your voucher for your Little Athletics registration please do so before the expiry date.

To use your Ticket to Play voucher contact the Little Athletics Tasmania Office prior to registering at

More information about Ticket to Play is availabe here.

Once an athlete is registered they must have an official Centre competition top for their athlete name and age badge to be sewn too. These are currently $40 each.

Note: Proof of age for children registering for the first time is required. This can be either the blue health book or birth certificate, and must be provided to the Registrar before the registration process can be finalised.

Further enquiries regarding the registration process can be directed by email to the Registrar.
